Welcome To The Dollhouse

Donor Lost…Donor Found

Welcome to the chaos that is my life right now. You would think that with being out of work for 2 weeks, I might be able to relax and cut loose. No such luck. Between the search for a new house, getting the old house ready to be put on the market, decluttering, and dealing with the fatigue and mood swings caused by progesterone, my plate is truly full.

But yesterday I got the bad news. My donor went to see the doctor to have her examination and evaluation to begin our planned cycle. She was deemed unsuitable. Why? She’s a virgin with a tight hymen. Everything was too uncomfortable for her. The doctor recommended that we find another donor.

I wanted to be angry, but gee whiz, how can you be angry because the woman is a virgin? It was great that she so wanted to help infertile couples that she was willing to act as a donor. But unfortunately this latest development left us back at square one.

I asked the coordinator whether she had signed up any new potential donors that might be a good match for me. She immediately suggested F. She said that her S. African counterpart was so incredibly taken with F’s intelligence, maturity, and caring. After reviewing her information and photos, Mason and I had to agree. She is 23, married, studying software design, and likes to bake, and exercise. She is also about my height (though nowhere near my weight), unlike MicroC, what we called our tiny previous donor who was barely 5′ tall.

I sent our introduction letter last night to the coordinator in order for her to pass on to F. By the time I woke up, F had readily accepted and thought from our letter that we were really good people. Our last donor took almost 2 weeks to make up her mind.

So within 24 hours we have gone from despair to joy again. I’d like to hope that my little embie has implanted and thus a donor will no longer be necessary, but hey, you know my luck in this area. It is pretty minimal.

Now lets talk houses. We went looking in the area around Merck on Saturday. We found this great house that we care considering bidding on: Potential House Take the virtual tour. It is so cool. The only negative is that the house doesn’t have much of a backyard beyond the large deck. But since it is on a cul de sac, kids can play in front of the house as well.

We also fell in love with this house: Too Big House, but we realized that a) it was more than we wanted to pay, and b) at 4200 square feet, the house is too darn big for the two of us…even for the potential 3 of us, plus kitties.

Well that’s all I’ve got for tonight. Time for bed.
