And Because This Is Also A Knitblog…
I’m looking to begin my summer knitting project since I am about to finish the winter project:
Since shrugs are all the rage right now (akin to last year’s Clapotis), I’d like to make one but can’t seem to find a pattern that I like. I found this shrug at J. Jill:
and want to make something similar. Can anyone direct me to a good pattern?
Oh and some follow up knitting stuff. My father informed me that one of the socks I knitted for him (on size 1 needles, no less!):
was eaten by his German shepherd puppy, Isis! He’d like me to make a replacement.
The hard part about the replacement (which I could do since I have an extra skein of the yarn needed) is that I was knitting these socks during my mother’s hospitalization right before she died. I’m afraid to pick up the needles and start because of the memories that may return. I’m just getting on my feet again and it is a little scary. Ah well.
I also have some pretty self-striping sock yarn that I could use to make a pair of socks for myself… That might be a good idea.
This reminds me how much I miss my knitting group that I ran when I worked at CHOP. It was so much fun to get people started in the fun world of knitting. I’d love to do the same at Merck, but goodness I am never around with all the travel I do!!!
Are any of you working on cool projects? Let me see your work!

I’m not going to be helpful with a pattern, BUT, if you made a shrug comparable to the one in the picture, I would love to buy one! Have you ever considered selling?
Just a thought!
Check my sister-in-law’s sister’s site – drop her an email (let her know you are my friend) and I’m sure if there is a great one to be found, she’ll have it for you
