We flew USAir but we flew Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Faro and had no problems with the Priori, except for the smacking people in the head with it problem. In my opinion, I’m really believing that the CARES harness is the way to go in the plane. I can’t say that it was worth it to have her car seat in the plane in all honesty.

did you fly with a german airline to frankfurt? we have to fly from jfk to frankfurt soon and i am worried if they let us take our maxi cosi priori on board….also: would you recommend taking the maxi cosi priori on board (we have a 14 months old) ? was it worth it? thx.

Is your husband related to my husband? I swear I could feel my blood pressure elevate as I *knew* what was coming up next in your story. You perfectly described a trip with my husband…lack of food, noise-cancelling headphones and all.

Just wanted to tell you that you look great and your daughter is gorgeous. I am totally with you on the foot thing….yikes.

I will live vicariously through your stories of travel overseas for now (we have a trip from CA to Williamsburg, VA scheduled in 2 weeks and I was just called to NJ for a meeting right before it, so my husband is flying cross-country (with 3 kids) alone to meet my….) When I told my MIL (who is coming to dog-sit) that the last 2 planes I tried to put my husband on BK (before kids), he missed the flights, she laughed and said she’d at least get them to the airport on time (what about the layover in Chicago?) Is there some kind of pill moms should take before their kids travel?

Oh man I can’t imagine the nightmare getting there knowing you have to do it AGAIN on the way home.

is awesome for carrying the car seat, we bought a cheap umbrella stroller for the airport transport and use the pac back. I don’t think I concussed anyone when we used it. Though I’ve noticed that passengers with head injuries complain less about whiny toddlers on the flight!

We haven’t traveled much with her. This is only our second trip. I guess we sort of split the work when we are moving through the airport in that he gets the heavy stuff and I take Zara. Yet when we get onto the plane it is supposed to be equally shared.

However, as he told me on the way back, “well if she won’t sit on my lap or in her seat, I can’t think of anything else to do.”

How convenient!

My husband and I already decided that had we had more than the one child, vacation would have consisted of a trip to our backyard.
